Chemical Marketing Concepts

Chemical Marketing Concepts is a very unique company which provides sample packaging and shipment for many of the world's largest chemical manufacturers. The company handles cosmetic, food-grade, electronic and industrial chemical samples.

• Production Control System - A 20+ user Access application that converts customer orders into production orders. The system tracks the progress of each order as it works it's way through the plant. It contains several security features to help insure the proper selection of raw material, lot number control (traceability), and the printing of labels for finished goods. To date, the system has managed in excess of 75,000 production orders in all 3 of Chemical Marketing's plants in New Milford, Connecticut, Pueblo, Colorado and The Netherlands.

• Shipping System - A 10+ user Access application that scans finshed goods as they're packed and tracks shipped items against customer orders. The system also captures and stores lot numbers, and interfaces with DHL and FEDEX for capturing shipping charges and tracking numbers. As each order is scanned, the system automatically prints the necessary MSDS and COA documents. To date, the system has scanned more than 200,000 order items in Chemical Marketing's 3 plant locations.

• Customer Service Center - A web application that allows customers to login and check the status of their orders and their inventory. The system includes a module that runs several times a day to automatically update the web site. The system is written using Access, SQL Server, and Active Server pages. The site receives about 1500 hits per day across about 60 customers.

• Shipping Confirmations - A application that runs several times a day to push emails to customers informing them of the status of their shipped orders. Each email contains embedded links to DHL, UPS, or FEDEX for shipment tracking.

• Web Order Entry System - An ASP.NET application for use by Chemical Marketing's customers to enter their orders on-line. In-house there is an application that then imports those orders into the Customer Service system for regular processing.

• Ship Verify System - An application that interfaces the in-house Order Management system with FEDEX and DHL. The system takes shipment data from the vendors machines, calculates the appropriate shipping charges (based on contracts), then posts those charges to customer orders. This system has helped to save approximately 120 man-hours of labor per week.

• Purchasing System - An Access application used to track and control the purchasing of all containers and materials used in the production process. The system interfaces with the Production Control system to automatically relieve inventory of containers as they are used in production, thus creating a perpetual inventory system.


ISPG

ISPG supplies bulk clean custom ground stainless steel cannula, small diameter stainless steel tubular components, glass syringes and custom procedure needles for both medical device and pharmaceutical industries as well as other OEM applications.

• Operations System - An intranet application running entirely on top of SQL Server. This systems manages customer orders, inventory, and vendor purchasing. The system is hosted in house on IIS 5.0, and is used by both locations of ISPG, as well as the company's overseas vendors in Asia.

• Report System - A complex application that provides management level reporting of the data in the SQL server.

• We maintain several options-related pages for Investools. Each evening over servers download the entire equity and options traded universe, massage the data, then upload that data to a Active Server web application for use by InvesTools' users.


Open Finance

Open Finance pulls financial data from disparate sources and converts it to a proprietary, common format allowing formerly unrelated data to be centrally consolidated and reported. Once the data is in the same format, it can be

• Contact Management System - An Access system that has been in use at the company since 1988. It started out as a Clipper application under DOS, and has endured several complete re-writes. The system is used by the entire sales staff to track and manage customer contact.

The system also inventories all print ad orders and interfaces that data to the company's accounting system running under MAS90

• Web Registration System - A web based, Active Server Pages application that registers new users to receive the company's email newsletter. The system includes an Access application that imports the signup data from the web server's SQL Server for archiving and analysis.

• Time and Expense Tracking system - A combination in-house heavy-client system and ASP.NET application for the management and billing of labor and expenses for InfoLynx's many projects for both direct clients and sub-tiers

• We designed and developed a complete membership management system for BCC. The system inventories all members and tracks classes, dues, fees, volunteer hours and balances. The system also includes a powerful data export module, a reporting module, and manages the creation of member renewal letters.
